Asist Communities CIC's training aims to help participants to:
be able to recognise their own attitudes to suicide and suicide intervention and to understand how those attitudes may affect a suicide first-aid intervention.
be able to understand where the suicide first-aid model fits into a whole community approach to suicide prevention/intervention/'postvention'.
have a clear understanding of the suicide intervention model and an opportunity to practise using the model.
learn how to review a person's risk and work with them to manage that risk (in accordance with the level of risk and the participant's role and work boundaries).
have an opportunity to consider the different resources both the person at risk and they as the 'care giver' have.
have an opportunity to network and make links across their community or with other members of their staff team.
